You will utilize the school's SIRS subscription database to access a plethora of articles on your subject. Choose THREE articles
on your subject and write an Annotated Bibliography on each article.
What is an Annotated Bibliography?
The definition, according to Cazenovia College, is
"An annotated bibliography is a bibliography with an explanation of what the each work cited is about."
In this way it helps the researcher discover whether the material can be of use to him if he is not familiar with the work listed.
Step #1:
Begin with locating an article on your subject and reading through it.
Make sure that it is not an editorial - an article stating someone's opinion as opposed to just the facts - or simply a list of facts.
It should delve into some aspect of your subject.
Step #2:
Once you have read the article, go to www.citationmachine.net and create your MLA Citation for the article.
This citation will be placed at the top of your Anna. Bib.
Step #3:
Write 3 to 4 sentences on the main ideas in the article.
Do NOT simply paraphrase some sentences - get to the heart of the article.
Step #4:
Write 1 to 2 sentences stating your impression of the information in article.
Do NOT write that you did or did not like the article!!!
What did you like/dislike about the Quality or Volume of INFORMATION in it?
What might another researcher need to know before including this article's information in their research collection?
